VBA organizes Committee of Experts and Council of Ministers in Accra, Ghana

The Executive Secretary of Ghana Country Water Partnership participated from 6th to 9th May 2019, in the meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts of the Volta Basin Authority at Coconut Grove Hotel in Accra, Ghana. About forty (40) participants were present, drawn from the six (6) riparian States of the basin, notably the focal points of the VBA in the countries and technical and financial partners including the IUCN, GWP-WA, UEMOA, and Water Integrity Network (WIN). Also, technical structures from Ghana participated in the meeting.

Benin Environment and Education Society (BEES)

Maximin Djondo is the Executive Director of Benin Environment and Education Society (BEES). For the past 15 years, he has implemented projects in the West Africa region to support national and international strategies and policies related to the sustainable use of wetland and coastal ecosystems resources. Development and Communications: Empowerment through Stories

Communications is key for development, something recognised by both GWP and Sida, Sweden’s International Development Cooperation Agency, and one of GWP’s founding Partners. On 22-23 November, the Communication teams of GWP and Sida joined forces with Malmö University’s Master's in Communication for Development in convening a 2-day seminar for their students as part of the course on "Media, globalization and development."
