The 32^nd SC Meeting of GWP Southeast Asia was held in Singapore on 10 July 2016 before the Singapore Water Week and GWP PAN Asia Workshop.

 

9 Steering Committee Member from 9 countries in Southeast Asia gathered at the Marina Barrage, Singapore to discuss the program and plan for the 2016 and 2017. The plan of 2017 for core budget work plan has not been decided yet but 2 alternatives has been prepared and proposed for the countries.

 

The newest recruit in the GWP global secretariat is Nicolas Delaunay, Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Manager. Two months into the job, Delaunay shares first impressions of his new role, with an important message to partners: “We need to emphasize the urgency we are in.” This interview is the latest in a year-long series of interviews celebrating GWP’s 20^th Anniversary.

Experts and practitioners gathered in Stockholm, Sweden, on 19 June to discuss the results of GWP-commissioned research on gender equality and inclusion in water management. The aim was to lay the groundwork for broader change and bring about practical steps to action.

A GWP Partner embraces the cross-sectoral range of civil society organisations, private sector actors, and government bodies that have a bearing on the sustainable management of water resources, and is committed to an integrated approach.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) works to support Caribbean countries in the sustainable development and management of their water resources. Since being established in 2004, the regional organisation has been hosted by its long-standing Partner, the National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST), in Trinidad.

GWP supports mandated institutions in designing and implementing water-related policies, legislation, action plans, strategies, and programmes based on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). GWP offers IWRM technical capacity development activities for officials and technical experts working in the field of water and environmental resources management. Examples include professionals working with river basin organisations, catchment agencies, national, and provincial/state governments. 

At its core, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is a knowledge sharing Network.

The Federal Republic of Nigeria House of Representatives committee on Water Resources engaged stakeholders and the general public in a two-day public hearing (17 and 18 October 21017) on "a bill for an act to establish a regulatory framework for the Water Resources sector in Nigeria".

The 2nd Regional Conference of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) labelled project Governance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector will be held on 5-6 December 2016, in Tunis, Tunisia, in synergy with the UfM’s Pollution Reduction & Prevention Investment (PRPI) Group.

Global Water Partnership East Africa (GWP-EA) is collaborating with the Uganda Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) to facilitate the development of the country’s Water National Adaptation Plan (Water NAP).
