Any experience on water management is worth to be shared, says Shamila Nair-Bedouelle, Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences of UNESCO: “Water managers need to understand the different journeys that have been taken, so that we collectively can promote sustainable water management.”
The vision of the GWP-CAf is for of a "Central Africa where water security is assured". Our mission is to "support sustainable development through the promotion and implementation of integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in Central Africa".
Jointly organized by the Global Water Partnership, the International Secretariat for Water and UNESCO-IHP, the session “How can intergenerational dialogue facilitate youth inclusion in decision making?” was held on 29 August 2019 at World Water Week 2019.

Our digital library is an online database of digital objects that can include text, still images, audio, video, digital documents, or other digital media formats. The collection will consists of in-house library (GWP global, region, and country water partnerships), as well as a copy of free-access media from the internet for the region of Southeast Asia. To commemorate World Water Day (WWD) 2020 (observed annually on March 22nd), the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) challenged persons to enter its Photo Contest.
“It began with passion and learning. When I was young, I wanted to be an engineer and then I wanted to teach. Putting these two interests together, I became a university teacher specialized in water resources engineering.” This is how Dr. Khin Ni Ni Thein’s professional journey with water started. Now, 42 years later and many experiences richer, she shares her career story in celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD2020).
Laurent-Charles Tremblay-Lévesque joined GWP as IWRM & Knowledge Management Specialist exactly one month ago. In his new role, he will develop and share tools and knowledge resources to help GWP’s Partners design and implement water-related strategies and projects aligned with the principles of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). To mark World Toilet Day 2020, we asked him to share an experience from his previous role within the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector. He says that “toilets can help us fight climate change”.
