Mali CWP had discussions with various stakeholders including dyers, artisanal and industrial tanners, slaughterhouses, market gardeners, gravel and sand extractors, gold panners and fishermen, technical services, the University, NGOs and the media for a better wastewater management in order to improve water quality in the Niger River.
Monika Weber-Fahr took up her new position as Executive Secretary of Global Water Partnership on 7 May. “As the newest kid on the block I’m feeling very humbled. To assess progress made in transboundary water cooperation in Cameroon, the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy in collaboration with UNESCO Regional Office for Central Africa and GWP Cameroon organized a two day multi-stakeholder consultation workshop in Mbalmayo, Cameroon from the 3 - 4 September 2020.
The Water ChangeMaker Awards closed its submissions on 14 June – with 350+ individuals and groups from over 80 countries having submitted their personal experiences on how they have influenced water decisions that build climate resilience. Since that time, all submitted projects have undergone eligibility and verification screening.
The regional organisation Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) and the Energy and Water Agency (EWA) of Malta are organizing the Capacity Building Workshop ‘Non-Conventional Water Resources Management: Local Solutions’, that will take place on 13 and 14 November 2019 and will be hosted by the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST).
GWP WA is coordinating the reporting on the SDG 6.5.1 indicator by UNEP through the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme with GWP support in the region. Monitoring and reporting on SDG indicator 6.5.1 in countries are based on a self-assessment survey.
