Drawing on the global theme for this year: Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality, we have asked women in the water community to answer the question: How can the water sector step it up for gender equality?

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) launched its new Youth Engagement Strategy at Stockholm World Water Week on August 25^th, 2015. The youth strategy supports the wider GWP “Towards 2020” Strategy as does the GWP Gender Strategy, which was launched in August 2014. 

GWP eastern Africa partnered with the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI) to honor winners of the Nile Media Awards 2015 competition at a ceremony held on June 4, 2015 at Saint Gaspar Hotel in Dodoma, Tanzania.

Eighty representatives from a diversity of water–related sectors participated in an informative meeting, held on 22 May 2015 in La Paz, to learn about the advantages of establishing a Country Water Partnership (CWP) in Bolivia.

The Second Consultation Workshop of the Palestinian Water Policy Dialogue, within the Union for the Mediterranean project Governance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector, was organised under the patronage of H.E. The Regional Workshop on South-South Cooperation in Flood Management organised by GWPO and GWP China was held from 14 to 16 December 2015 in Guangdong, China.

From 19 to 20 March 2015, the Country Water Partnership of Benin organized a national workshop on the ownership of the guidelines for the development of large hydraulic infrastructures in West Africa.
This workshop follows the regional one held on 17 and 18 November 2014 in Lomé, Togo. About thirty stakeholders involved in the process of conducting water works namely the public structures, NGOs, consumers, municipalities, research institutions, etc. took part in the meeting.
