Before the International Children’s Day (June 1st), 15 teams of 13-19-year-old young people convened in Nanjing of Jiangsu Province to share their inventions with experts and the public and to realize their innovative solutions to improve water and environment in and around their schools at the Junior Water Prize (JWP) Final.
Organized by the MInistry of Water Resource and Energy and the Cameroon Country Water Partnership (GWP-Cmr), the Republic of Cameroon held a stakeholder consultation on July 23rd 2020 to validate the national report on Sustainable Development Goal indicator 6.5.1 which measures the degree of implementation of Integrated Water Resources (IWRM) .
GWP WA and IUCN/PACO have announced the name of the laureates of the fifth edition of the water and environment journalism competition. The topic this year was "Water resources management: examples of good nature - based practices ".
World Water Day (WWD) is commemorated on 22 March every year. This year’s theme was “Leaving no one behind”. GWP and its Partners worldwide supported the theme by arranging a wide range of activities. On 19 November, marking World Toilet Day 2018, GWP invited Kanika Thakar, founder of #ToiletTalk, to a Facebook Live interview. She talked about her passion to change the way the world values and talks about toilets. “How can you solve a problem if we can't even talk about it?” she asks. Kanika says her aim is to break down the taboos surrounding toilets.
Ghana Water Resources Commission (WRC) in collaboration with the Ghana Country Water Partnership (CWP Ghana) have organized in December the first workshops towards the review of the IWRM Plans for the Pra and Tano basins.
At the Korea Global Adaptation Week on 8-12 April in Songdo, Republic of Korea, GWP launched the publication, “Addressing Water in National Adaptation Plans - Water Supplement to the UNFCCC NAP Technical Guidelines", and explored new and on-going collaboration with key stakeholders.
