The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) works to support Caribbean countries in the sustainable development and management of their water resources. Since being established in 2004, the regional organisation has been hosted by its long-standing Partner, the National Institute of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST), in Trinidad.
On 17 and 18 January 2018, the National Hydraulic Directorate organized the workshop to validate Guinea's National Water Policy with IUCN funding. CWP Guinea took part in this important meeting the chair, Mr. El Hadj Mamadou Alpha HANN and the Executive Secretary, Mr. Hafiziou BARRY who moderated the workshop.

Water, Energy and Food (WEF) Nexus approach can support the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) region in meeting the increasing water, energy and food security demands in a context of climate change, population growth, urbanization and natural resources degradation.
The 2017 meeting of the Regional Advisory Committee of the Global Coordination Mechanism of the Mekrou Project held on 15 and 16 June 2017 in Niamey, Niger. The meeting aimed at validating the choice of a preferential scenario for the draft Strategic Framework for Water Security (SFWS) in the Mékrou basin. The Advisory Committee is expected to choose a preferential scenario to enable the consultant to develop it in detail by incorporating the needs for modifications of the action plans for adaptation to extreme events at the basin level as well as at the country level, the procedures for their management and the mapping of the actors concerned.

Purpose:
To develop, fund raise for, promote, manage and oversee implementation of GWP/WA’s strategies and programmes, as well as develop and nurture political and programmatic relationships with key institutions and GWP Partners, for meaningful and effective delivery of the programmes.
Aiming to make the youth’s voice heard in view of integrated water resources management, climate change adaptation and sustainable development, GWP-Med facilitates a youth dialogue entitled “Tunisia Youth mobilized for water and climate”. The dialogue started with a first workshop on 26th December 2017 and is continuing with a second workshop on the 25th May 2018, Tunis, Tunisia.
The Panama chapter of the Central American Water Youth Network held its 2nd national youth conference in Chirquí, June 2 and 3, with the support of GWP and other organisations.
