On 26 April 2018, a successful meeting was held in Nouakchott in Mauritania between GWP-Med, the National Center for Water Resources in Mauritania (CNRE) and the Regional Centre of Agro-Hydro-Meteorology (AGRHYMET) leading to collaboration agreement on concrete steps to support CNRE on water resources monitoring and evaluation as well as hydro-climate services delivery.
In the context of setting the scene for the development of the new GWP strategy, the Regional Days 2018 in Budapest included a session exploring GWP’s current position within the different regions and themes, and how the network adds value. Each region and thematic lead were asked to develop a poster describing their work and application in practice. The below posters are internal GWP working documents.
On 26 June, GWP Poland organized a seminar Inland navigation from European perspective, which was held at the Faculty of Building Services, Hydro and Environmental Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology.

Michèle Okala coordinates the work of RECOJAC – the Network of Water and Climate Organisations of Central African Youth. She is one of the founding members and she is also in charge of youth issues for GWP Central Africa. Michèle has been volunteering for over 8 years, and she shares some insights to what she has learned – and what she hopes to leave as her legacy: “I created RECOJAC for the generation that will come after me. I am only laying the foundation.”
