Prof. Amadou Hama MAIGA, Chair of GWP West Africa attended the Africa Regional Water Team Days organized in Niamey, Niger, on 27 to 29 May 2019 by the Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC).
The first phase of the project TonFuturTonClimat (Your future your Climate) has ended with overall good outcomes in all the countries (Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo). Successful monitoring and reporting are contingent on regional circumstance, national institutional arrangements and associated capacities of agencies and ministries therein. As such, region specific adaptations are necessary to enhance existing methodologies toward increased efficacy and functionality at the local level.
The Global Water Partnership Organization (GWPO) has accredited Botswana Water Partnership as the official country water partnership (CWP) responsible for leading and coordinating programmes and activities in the country.
The Executive Secretary of Ghana Country Water Partnership participated from 6th to 9th May 2019, in the meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts of the Volta Basin Authority at Coconut Grove Hotel in Accra, Ghana. About forty (40) participants were present, drawn from the six (6) riparian States of the basin, notably the focal points of the VBA in the countries and technical and financial partners including the IUCN, GWP-WA, UEMOA, and Water Integrity Network (WIN). Also, technical structures from Ghana participated in the meeting.
