The Global Mechanism of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) is taking the lead in assisting countries in developing national drought plans through National Consultants.

The Summer School „Towards 2030 Agenda: A summer school for climate change, innovation and youth advocacy in water management“ will take place on 1- 6 July 2018 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.

The SADC Secretariat has been holding a series of workshops for the transboundary River Basin Organisations (RBOs) in the region since 2006. The DANUBE FLOODPLAIN project, supported by Interreg Europe through the Danube Transnational Programme (DTP), will be implemented by 18 partners with 4 associated strategic partners across ten countries sharing the Danube River Basin (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Serbia).

In the context of setting the scene for the development of the new GWP strategy, the Regional Days 2018 in Budapest included a session exploring GWP’s current position within the different regions and themes, and how the network adds value.
