Citizen engagement is crucial for ensuring efficient water use in communities! Water management depends on all of us and therefore we must take action!

A regional workshop on ‘Transboundary Water Cooperation in the context of the SDGs in South Asia and beyond’ was held in Pokhara, Nepal from 23 and 24 May 2017.

The 2017 statutory meetings of GWP CAf were held in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, with the Steering Committee meeting on the 12th and 13th of December 2017 and the General Assembly on the 14th December 2017.

On November 1, 2018, GWP China was invited to the high-end seminar on Sustainable Urban Water Management under Climate Adaptation, co-sponsored by the Netherlands Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and the World Resources Institute (WRI), in Beijing.

GWP South Asia, GWP and GWP Nepal in cooperation with the Geneva Water Hub and UNESCO-IHE are organising a regional workshop on Transboundary Water Cooperation in the context of the SDGs in South Asia and beyond in Pokhara, Nepal on 23 and 24 May 2017. Thereafter, an Inter-Regional Coordination Meeting will be held on the 25 May with the representation of the four Asian Regional Water Partnerships – Central Asia, China, South Asia and South-East Asia.

A Regional Workshop for the Validation of the Draft ECOWAS Directive on Shared Water Resources Management in West Africa, held on 2 and 3 May 2017 in Dakar, under the chairmanship of Mr. Diène FAYE, Secretary of State in charge of Hydraulics of Senegal.

The Alter Aqua Video Game is a tool to raise awareness and sensitize primary and secondary school students on the use of Non Conventional Water Resources and the importance of saving water every day!

The annual GWP Network Meeting will be held on 11 October at 13.00 Central European Time (CET). It is a virtual meeting, to be broadcast on the GWP website www.gwp.org – with a special guest message from UN Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Jan Eliasson. The CWP chair, Mamadou Alpha HANN led the Executive Secretariat to meet with the President of Commission No 3 of the Economic and Social Council (ESC), Mr Maurice DOPAVOGUI, accompanied by Mrs Guilao Joséphine LENO, former Minister and member of the ESC, to discuss the possibilities of collaboration with his institution.
