Professor Amadou Hama MAIGA is the new chair of Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA). It was proclaimed following a recruitment process approved by the Assembly of Partners on 29 September 2017 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs Shark Tank is an initiative of the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and was first launched in 2019. The competition provides a unique opportunity for young persons from the Caribbean between the ages of 18 to 34 years, to pitch innovative and impactful water project ideas.
Vientiane, 22 October 2018 -- A pre Steering Commitee Meeting was held in the Mekong River Commission (MRC) Secretariat on 22 October 2018 to discuss several important agenda for the upcoming event in the Q4. The Arab Water Council (AWC) is holding its 4th Arab Water on 26-28 November in Cairo, Egypt. The Forum is a tri-annual event and is a meeting place for AWC’s members from 22 Arab states, together with their partners and associates from the region and from around the world.

GWP Steering Committee Member Mina Guli's #RunningDry campaign - to run 100 marathons in 100 days to raise awareness around the global water crisis - has turned into a movement, after a serious injury forced Mina to take a break from running.
The 1st World Water Summit on Leaving No One Behind will look to find ground-breaking technical and governance solutions for the topic of “Leaving No One Behind”, bringing governance leaders and funding agencies together. The Summit aims to fill a need that is not yet met by other water conferences and provides a kick-off event as part of the 2019 UN-Water campaign on this theme. It is held 7-8 February in Geneva, Switzerland.
Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) in collaboration with the Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Burkina Faso and the Volta Basin Authority (VBA) organized a regional workshop for journalists from Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Mali, Niger and Togo from 20 to 22 November 2018.
