On December 13 to 16, 2016, 'the Annual Workshop for International Cooperation Officers' and 'the Working Meeting on International Cooperation' were organized by the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) of China in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province.

The Water-Employment-Migration nexus triggers a multi-faceted crisis posing major socio-political, economic and environmental risks in several regions (Africa, Asia, Europe), with the Mediterranean been in the eye of the cyclone.

GWP West Africa took part in the regional workshop to validate the sub regional report on the West African process of the 7^th World Water Forum on "Risk and uncertainty management for resilience and preparedness to disasters".

GWP Caribbean teamed up with its partners, the Caribbean Youth Environment Network-Jamaica Chapter (CYEN-Ja) and the Water Resources Authority (WRA) of Jamaica, to host a Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) Outreach Initiative at the Jamaica Climate Walk 2015. 

A meeting of the Coordination Bureau of the African Network of Basin Organizations (ANBO) and the last meeting of the Steering Committee of the project "Strengthening Transboundary Water Management Institutions (SITWA)" have been held in Dakar, Senegal on 28 and 29 November 2016.

GWPEA in collaboration with CapNet and Uganda National Water and Sewage Corporation organized a five days training for Young Water Professionals on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) and Climate change

Reflection workshop on « Sustainable livelihoods in wetlands in developing countries: the vision of the African youth” initiated by Water For Life Cameroon within the context of the celebration of World Wetlands Day and in partnership with  GWP-CAf was held on February 3^rd, 2016 in Yaoundé, Cameroun.

 

21 Participants drawn from 13 Cameroon youth led-organizations working for the protection of environment and research centers attended the workshop on wetlands.

 

The objective of the workshop was to raise awareness on the position of youth on the importance of the interdependence between human livelihoods and wetlands in urban and rural areas in order to catalyze change in the utilization of resources offered/generated by the wetlands.

The Yellow River runs through nine provinces in China: Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Henan and Shandong. The provinces have a common problem of water shortage that leads to water use disputes. For better cooperation between the provinces, the Yellow River Conservancy Commission (YRCC) makes the annual water allocation plans, water controlling scheme and a real-time water control.
