The water and sanitation sector stakeholders met on 28 and 29 June 2019 in Cotonou for the traditional sector review. Stakeholders shared and exchanged on progress but also reflected on major concerns in order to ensure sustainable access to water and sanitation for the population.

From 25 to 26 August 2018, the global meeting of the Advisory Committee and the Management Committee of the Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP) took place at the GWP offices in Stockholm.
A West Africa region team including participants from Water Resources Coordination Center (WRCC)/ ECOWAS, Volta Basin Authority (VBA) and Global Water Partnership-West Africa (GWP-WA) took part in a Technical Task Team Workshop on the setting up of the NEPAD PIDA Water Project - Support to project Preparation and Financing of PIDA Transboundary Water and Hydropower Projects and Africa Investments Programme 2019 – 2024. The workshop organized by NEPAD Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA), in collaboration with AMCOW, GWP and Partners was held on the 12th 2018 in Botswana, Gaborone.
The Volta Basin Authority (VBA) and GWP have concluded the recruitment process of the two Volta Project staff to be located for the Technical Project Manager at the Executive Directorate of VBA and for the Project Technical Assistant at GWP-WA secretariat.
About forty young people, members of the beneficiary’s associations of the project #TonFutureTonClimat and members of the local development committees were trained on the good management of an association including proper keeping of administrative and accounting documents, the preparation of texts of an association and the sale of agricultural products.
