Central African Republic

Created in 2008 in Bangui, the CAR Country Water Partnership's mission is to support the government in the sustainable management of water resources through the adoption of IWRM principles. It brings together all the actors in the water sector, organised in groups of actors, who subscribe to the management and working principles promoted by the GWP network.

The day aligns with GWP's Gender Strategy, which addresses diversity and inclusion, social equity, and women's role in the integrated and sustainable management of water resources.

Niger, Mekrou 2 Project to focus on field actions for the populations

The Country Water Partnership of Niger together with the Ministry of Hydraulics and Sanitation through the Permanent Secretariat for IWRM (SP/PANGIRE), the Directorate General of Water Resources (DGRE) by Global Water Partnership West Africa (GWP-WA) have submitted a project proposal “Water for growth and poverty reduction in the Mekrou sub-basin in Niger” or "Mekrou Project Phase 2 - NIGER".

The Power of Communication

For our third and final youth voice on water for 2019 we go to the warm Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago to meet Khadija Stewart, who shares her water journey and how social media and communication has guided her to where she is today: “A simple Facebook post changed my life”, she says. The story is part of a collaboration between World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW) and GWP to make sure the voices of youth are heard.

GWP-Med signs MoU with the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources & Fishery to advance ongoing & future collaboration

Building on their long-lasting cooperation, the Global Water Partnership Mediterranean (GWP-Med) and the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Hydraulic Resources & Fishery (MARHP) signed a framework MoU to promote and facilitate the implementation of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) with a strengthened participation of water stakeholders in Tunisia, both at local level, national and transboundary level.
