On May 23-25, 2017, the fourth south-south interregional water cooperation gathered GWP China, Central Asia and Caucasus, South Asia and South East Asia, four Regional Water Partnerships, in Pokhara, Nepal.

The annual GWP Network Meeting will be held on 11 October at 13.00 Central European Time (CET). It is a virtual meeting, to be broadcast on the GWP website www.gwp.org – with a special guest message from UN Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Jan Eliasson. The end of the rainy season has brought some very interesting news to farmers working with the Integrated Drought Management pilot project in the Mali central municipality of Gouendo. A field visit carried by the regional Project manager accompanied by the Permanent secretary of CWP Mali set a light encouraging results of the pilot action and the happiness of the beneficiaries.

The CWP-Benin with the experiences of its network in IWRM promotion and strong involvement in the implementation of the "Water for Growth and Poverty reduction in the Mekrou Transboundary Basin" or Mekrou Project and the achievements made, is supporting GIZ in the Phase 2 of the Water, Hygiene and Sanitation Programme (ProSEHA) to achieve the results of component B of the programme.

On December 2, 2016, the GWP China Hebei’s Partners Meeting and Transboundary Water Security System & Management Workshop were held in Hebei Province, China. It was hosted by the GWP China Hebei, Hebei Provincial Department of Water Resources and Hebei Provincial Association of Elder Scientists.

The 3rd Consultation Workshop on enhancing the potential for Private Sector Participation in Water Infrastructure in Lebanon, with emphasis on the role of Banks was organised in Beirut on the 8th November 2017, as part of the National Policy Dialogue on Water Governance and Financing. The Workshop involved more than 25 targeted representatives of relevant public institutions, private banks, regional organisations and NGOs.
