The International Secretariat for Water (ISW), Eau Vive International in collaboration with GWP WA and other partners have organized a training on the topic “New ideas for a better sharing of resources”.
The 2017 meeting of the Regional Advisory Committee of the Global Coordination Mechanism of the Mekrou Project held on 15 and 16 June 2017 in Niamey, Niger. The meeting aimed at validating the choice of a preferential scenario for the draft Strategic Framework for Water Security (SFWS) in the Mékrou basin. The Advisory Committee is expected to choose a preferential scenario to enable the consultant to develop it in detail by incorporating the needs for modifications of the action plans for adaptation to extreme events at the basin level as well as at the country level, the procedures for their management and the mapping of the actors concerned.
Under the Strategic Goal 1 Catalyze Change, the WACDEP Programme of GWP China Region stresses cross-regional cooperation, sector plan optimization, investment on recycling renewable resources, south-south promotion and a good lesson of utilizing the water rights market.
The new GWP website was launched on 22 March. The new features at the launch were much-improved search functions for news, events, and knowledge. Now we are pleased to introduce one more search function – one of the most asked-for features: a new and improved GWP Partner Search.
The young artist competition committed to water and environment called Water Star in Burkina Faso ended on Friday, June 29, with an award ceremony presided by the representative of the Ministry of Water and Sanitation of Burkina.
In the face of profound global water challenges, on World Water Day 2018 five global multi-stakeholder partnerships representing business, governments, intergovernmental organisations, academia, and civil society organisations announced a new collaboration effort designed to accelerate progress toward ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation around the world.
