March 22 is World Water Day (WWD) named by the United Nations in 1993 to highlight the challenges associated with precious resource.

A workshop on the harmonized review of the Water, Environment, Urban Planning and State Domain Sector (SEEUDE) for the 2017 financial year was held on Thursday 3 May in Bamako. In attendance were all stakeholders from the sectors mentioned above.

Greywater recycling aims at advancing the use of cost-effective and replicable practices, to ensure water availability and address water scarcity challenges at a local level.

During the 5^th Meeting of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Water Expert Group (WEG) in November 2015, a UfM Ministerial Conference on Water has been proposed to take place the first semester of 2017 in Malta. The technical process towards that was launched  with the WEG mandating a Drafting Group to elaborate on technical contents, in case the political partners decide to convene the suggested ministerial meeting.

Water is the interconnector of all sectors, therefore, it is not possible to support sectors development without understanding the role of water as one of the important development foundation. As important as it is, water is still considered as social goods by development actors. This condition has created a very complex challenge for the development of water sector itself. In Southeast Asia region as well as in other regions, the complexities of water challenges then urged the need to work together to achieve water secure world.

In the context of setting the scene for the development of the new GWP strategy, the Regional Days 2018 in Budapest included a session exploring GWP’s current position within the different regions and themes, and how the network adds value. Each region and thematic lead were asked to develop a poster describing their work and application in practice. The below posters are internal GWP working documents.

On December 13-15, 2018, Pan-Asia Capacity Development Training Workshop on Water Governance convened over 40 participants from 17 countries of Asian region in Kunming, Yunnan province.

"Strengthening Investments for Climate Resilient Development in the Lac Nokoué-Lagoon Complex of Porto Novo (RICC)" is a project proposal submitted by the Country Water Partnership (CWP) of Benin that the African Development Bank (AfDB) is supporting financially for an amount of Four hundred and ninety-five thousand three hundred and forty (495,340) Euros over a period of Twenty-four (24) months.

The DANUBE FLOODPLAIN project, supported by Interreg Europe through the Danube Transnational Programme (DTP), will be implemented by 18 partners with 4 associated strategic partners across ten countries sharing the Danube River Basin (Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia, Romania and Serbia).
