Coinciding with the UN’s Climate Action Summit in New York, GWP released a ‘sneak preview’ of impact stories from its Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP). The new publication, “Mobilising Change Makers”, are a collection that illustrate GWP’s water and climate resilience outcomes from 2011 to 2019, giving an overview of changes that have improved livelihoods and made communities more climate resilient.
In the face of profound global water challenges, on World Water Day 2018 five global multi-stakeholder partnerships representing business, governments, intergovernmental organisations, academia, and civil society organisations announced a new collaboration effort designed to accelerate progress toward ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation around the world. The Inter-American Network of Academies of Sciences (IANAS) has released a new publication entitled “Water Quality in the Americas: Risks and Opportunities.”
To contribute to closing the visibility gap between entrepreneurs, investors and enablers in the “Water Nexus”, the 4IP Group and Waterpreneurs are co-organising a matchmaking forum for sustainable development in Lusaka, Zambia, on 19-20 June. GWP Southern Africa is an event partner.
GWP requires the services of a consultant to support project development and research for project preparation partnership. The consultant will also contribute actively to GWP global WACDEP programme and support global climate policy processes and climate finance opportunities.
Jakarta 2 May 2019 -- The expert Discussion 2 on the "Interpreting State Control Rights in the water Sector In Indonesia" was held in Century Hotel to gather experts opinion on how to translate the state control rights on water since the former law no 7/2004 revoked by the Indonesian Institutional Court in 2015 and the new is still in a discussion process by the Indonesian People Representative.
Effective, accurate monitoring of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 (Water and Sanitation) is a technical process that requires considerable effort at the local level. Successful monitoring and reporting are contingent on regional circumstance, national institutional arrangements and associated capacities of agencies and ministries therein. As such, region specific adaptations are necessary to enhance existing methodologies toward increased efficacy and functionality at the local level.
