Global Water Partnership (GWP) Africa teamed-up with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), under the implementation of the National Adaptation Plan Global Support Programme (NAP-GSP) to lead the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) Regional Training Workshop for Asia on “Mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation into Water Resources”.

GWP delegates participated in the UN climate conference in Marrakech, Morocco, in November. Even though water is not central to the negotiations, it is getting increasing attention by the UNFCCC and other stakeholders. In this video, GWP delegates share their thoughts:

“I consider myself very fortunate to have spent the last 6 years as the Chair of the Technical Committee. The Committee should be seen as the stable backbone of GWP,” says Dr. Mohamed Ait-Kadi in a farewell interview.

On 09 March 2017, the Executive Secretary of the Sahara and Sahel Observatory(OSS), Mr. Khatim Kherraz and the Ugandan Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Hon. Matia Kassaija signed in Kampala, Uganda and Agreement for the implementation of the project called “Enhancing resilience of communities to climate change through catchment based integrated management of water and related resources in Uganda” (EURECCCA).

On 6 June 2017, Kenya Water Partnership held an extraordinary General Assembly Meeting at Grace House Resort Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting objective was to address governance issues, elect new office bearers and meet requirements for accreditation
