The 3rd Consultation Workshop on enhancing the potential for Private Sector Participation in Water Infrastructure in Lebanon, with emphasis on the role of Banks was organised in Beirut on the 8th November 2017, as part of the National Policy Dialogue on Water Governance and Financing. The Workshop involved more than 25 targeted representatives of relevant public institutions, private banks, regional organisations and NGOs.
The CWP Benin and PROTOS strengthen the capacity of local actors for the promotion of good hygiene and sanitation practices around agricultural production units and standpipes at Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) demonstration sites in the Mono and Couffo departments.
GWP has been working closely with the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) for over 20 years – the first connection goes back all the way to 1996, when GWP was established. Today, GWP Southern Africa is a recognized implementing agency of SADC, and also a strategic partner. In preparation for the 9th edition of the World Water Forum, to be held in Dakar, Senegal in 2021, the Kick-Off Meeting (Preparatory Process) was held on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 June 2019 in Dakar by the Government of Senegal and the World Water Council. The activity was launched by the Minister of Water and Sanitation of Senegal, Mr. Serigne Mbaye Thiam and the President of the World Water Council, Mr. Loïc Fauchon.
The September Assembly of Partners has renewed the organs by designed a new chair for GWP WA, a new executive secretary and also a new chair for regional technical committee. The two first had already met the staff and the turn was to the new RTEC chair, Dr. BARRY Boubacar on 18 November 2017.
