Organized by the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic, the Slovak Environment Agency and the Water Research Institute, the Conference "Water Resource Protection 2019" will take place on 17-18 June 2019 in Bratislava, Slovakia.

The annual GWP Network Meeting will be held on 11 October at 13.00 Central European Time (CET). It is a virtual meeting, to be broadcast on the GWP website www.gwp.org – with a special guest message from UN Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Jan Eliasson. A live session will be held in connection to this on GWP’s Facebook page – we welcome your questions and comments.

We invite you to read the draft strategy and share your thoughts. Comments will be considered and incorporated into the final version of the strategy document, which will be launched in July 2019. The consultation period runs from 6-20 May 2019.

GWP co-organised a session on the topic of water and disaster risk reduction in Asia during the recent Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) in Mongolia. The session's outcome document highlights a number of ways to combat water-related disasters.

Celebrating of the World Water Day and of the cultural week of schools, the Togolese NGO Association of Young Volunteers in the Service of the Environmental World (AJVSME) gave a communication to the students of the school LES EMERGENTS on the topic: "the students and their environment".

The 26th edition of the WWD was celebrated in various but very simple ways by CWP-Benin. On March 22, the CWP took over many media outlets to communicate on the topic of the Day and bring awareness, a support to the National Water Institute (INE), then the preparation of a contest related to the theme of WWD.

The chair and permanent secretary of the Country Water Partnership (CWP) Niger took part in the "National consultation workshop on the BIOPALT project - Biosphere and Lake Chad Heritage", on 12 and 13 February 2017 in Niamey.

The meeting of the high-level political forum (HLPF) on sustainable development in 2019 under the auspices of the Economic and Social Council, is held 9-18 July in New York, USA.

The goal is to support country and regional responses to SDG 6.5 as an entry point to accelerate implementation of SDG 6 and other water-related goals.
