The annual GWP Network Meeting will be held on 11 October at 13.00 Central European Time (CET). It is a virtual meeting, to be broadcast on the GWP website www.gwp.org – with a special guest message from UN Deputy Secretary General (DSG) Jan Eliasson. The Norwegian government recently signed a 3-year donor agreement with GWP. Hans Olav Ibrekk represented the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at GWP’s Financing Partners Group meeting in December. He says GWP has a key role to play in developing the required capacity, analytical tools and approaches for decision makers to meet the growing and urgent need of improved water resources management.

Sri Lanka Water Partnership (SLWP) organised an interactive webinar on 29 March 2017 in line with World Water Day 2017 with the aim of revamping the existing Emerging Water Professionals (EWPs) Network in Sri Lanka.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) together with the International Authority on Development (IGAD), the Africa Network on Basin Organizations (ANBO), UNECE, Makerere University and other partners organized a regional training on Water Governance and International Water Law for Trans-boundary Water Management in Africa in Entebbe, Uganda from 05-07 June 2017.

Sri Lanka Water partnership (SLWP) together with the Wetland Management Unit of Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Cooperation (SLLRDC) organised an Interactive seminar on Water and Wetlands for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to mark the World Water Day 2017 (WWD 2017).

On October 11, 2017, Dr. Oyun Sanjaasuren, Chair of GWP, visited GWP China Regional Office. Mdm Qihua CAI, Regional Chair of GWP China, met with Dr. Oyun.
