The Ministers in charge of water of the Member States of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) met on April 6, 2012, in Bangui, to discuss options for the establishment of a regional Water Resources Management Coordination Centre. One of the recommendations of the meeting was that the ECCAS General Secretariat, working together with GWP Central Africa and the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC), finalizes the strategic documents for water financing in Central Africa and submits them for adoption by ECCAS Members States.
The annual Global Water Partnership Consulting Partners Meeting will be held in Stockholm on August 26, 2012 immediately prior to the Stockholm World Water Week. The theme of this year's meeting will be “Water security as a catalyst for climate-resilient development”

The African Ministers Council on Water recently (AMCOW) acknowledged the value of its partnership with GWP at their General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt, on May 14, 2012, where the AMCOW Framework for Water Security and Climate Resilient Development was launched. Honourable S.S. Nkomo, Vice President of AMCOW, and Minister of Water Resources and Development, Zimbabwe, said, ‘we have good partners, AMCOW values the partnership with GWP and partners, and hereby welcomes this Framework’. On the fourth MyCWP Partners’ meeting on 7th May 2012 at the Corus Hotel, Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia, MyCWP re-introduced to the partners to what the GWP is, the
technical papers that are available and the GWP’s influence globally.
A one day Consultation Forum on the topic of “Water Governance in Assam: Priorities for Knowledge-based Interventions”, was organised by GWP-India with the support of its network partner Aarnayak in North-East India.

GWP conducted a training course on the “Application of the GWP IWRM ToolBox” at the Yerevan State University in Armenia, 25-26 April 2012. One of the main purposes of the training was to demonstrate how the GWP IWRM ToolBox can be used in university curricula.

A total of 30 elementary school children and 4 teachers from SJK (C) Puay Chai 2 (a Chinese Medium school) participated in ‘Water and River Education Awareness Program” in Kuala Lumpur on the 12th of May 2012.
