The University of Ljubljana hosted the first SANDANUBE workshop on 19-20 April in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Its goal was to define the parameters of a full scale project proposal on sustainable sanitation in Central and Eastern Europe.

GEF/UNDP/GWP-Med project 'Enabling transboundary cooperation and integrated water resources management in the extended Drin River Basin' (GEF Drin Project) is making efforts to raise public awareness about the natural wealth and legacy of the Drin River Basin on the occasion of Drin Day 2017.

Floods are a recurrent natural calamity in Pakistan, followed by earthquakes, cyclones and drought. However, drought is more damaging than floods in terms of food insecurity. The International Water Summit (IWS) is a global platform for promoting water sustainability in arid regions by bringing together stakeholders to accelerate the development of new sustainable strategies and technologies. It takes place in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on 15-18 January 2018.

This workshop goes in the Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) within the WEFE Nexus Workshop in West Africa (WAF). It will help to reach a common understanding of the WAF Project Document/Kick-off the Program and serve as an inception of the Regional Guidelines.

VIENNA, 10 October - A secondary school in Bosnia and Herzegovina has won the ‘International Danube Art Master 2017’ competition, announced Susanne Brandstetter, Chairperson of the Public Participation Expert Group of the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR). Ms. Brandstetter made the announcement yesterday at the House of the European Union in Vienna.
