The CWP Burkina organized a guided tour on Friday, March 4, 2016 on the pilot project on drip irrigation using solar energy on the site of Ramintenga in the municipality of Loumbila.  Representatives of the town hall of Loumbila, the Regional Chamber of Agriculture (CRA) of the Central Plateau, the Regional Directorate in charge of Agriculture, hydraulics, sanitation and Food security (DRAHASA), the Malgb-Zanga Association, the local Water committee of Northern Massili, members of the SIDWAYA group, and CWP-Burkina took part in the tour.

 

Stockholm World Water Week takes place 25-30 August, with this year's theme being "Water for society - Including all". As in previous years, GWP will have a strong presence and involvement

World Toilet Day, celebrated on 19 November, is about taking action to ensure that everyone has a safe toilet by 2030. This is part of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: sanitation and water. The 2018 theme of the day is "When Nature Calls". On the occasion of the day, GWP will do a Facebook Live interview with Kanika Thakar, Founder of #ToiletTalk.

Vientiane, 24 October 2018 -- The Mekong River Commission (MRC), Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP SEA), and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) successfully organized a regional shared vision and collaborative modelling workshop for the Mekong River Basin. Keywords: transboundary river basin, Mekong River Basin, multi-stakeholders platform, regional shared vision planning, collaborative modelling, IWRM, participation, team building, decision support system.

The Summer School „Towards 2030 Agenda: A summer school for climate change, innovation and youth advocacy in water management“ will take place on 1- 6 July 2018 at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Warsaw, Poland.

"Advancing Non-Conventional Water Resources Management in Mediterranean islands and coastal areas: local solutions, employment opportunities and people engagement," is a regional conference organized in Malta on May 10-11 to celebrate the 10years of the NCWR Programme in the Mediterranean.

Background:

During the month of May, ten workshops were held in the different regions of Honduras to raise awareness on the steps taken by the government to prepare for the implementation of SDG 6 in the country, as well as to promote that the Goal is included in local and territorial planning. They were also an opportunity to share information on GWP's campaign #ActOnSDG6.

Global Water Partnership Southern Africa supported the inception of the development of a comprehensive strategy for resource mobilization during the just-ended Zambia Stakeholder’s consultation workshop in Lusaka.
