Guinea, building capacities of IWRM actors

Guinea has developed since some years its IWRM roadmap and with it appears the necessity to build the capacities of the actors. As part of the capacity-building of the state and non-state actors involved in the IWRM process, an awareness, information, exchange and experience-sharing workshop was organized on 12th and 13th January 2017 in Conakry. Fifty participants took part in the meeting. The official ceremony was chaired by Mr. Ismaël DIA, Water Adviser of the Minister of Hydraulics and Energy.

Walking Billboard for Xiang River Protection in Hunan

Xiang River is one of main tributaries of the Yangtze River and the largest river in Hunan Province, providing water for domestic and industrial use as well as water transport. Changsha, the capital of Hunan and other developed cities in Hunan, with higher urbanization and dense population, are concentrated in the Xiang River Basin. Xiang River flows through Changsha and affords the city drinking water. For citizens, the health of the river affects the security of each family and their living environment.

AIP Support to HLPW

The HLPW was co-convened in 2016 by the UN Secretary-General and the World Bank President to provide the leadership required to tackle one of the world’s most pressing challenges – an ever growing water crisis. The Panel identified ways in which the world could accelerate progress towards ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all (SDG 6).

GWP CAF and its partners build capacity on IWRM and climate resilience

The GWP CAf and the UNESCO Regional Multisectoral Office for Central Africa, in collaboration with ECCAS, organized from 8 to 10 November 2017, a capacity-building workshop on IWRM and climate resilience in the context of transboundary catchment basins, in the case of transboundary catchment basins.
