Each month, the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) National Section, hosts a public lecture in the area of water management under its “Professional Perspectives” series.

Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) is an urban focused approach to the IWRM vision. IUWM provides a framework for interventions over the entire water cycle and a reconsideration of the way water is used (and reused) in urban areas so that water security can be further achieved.

A critical component of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) is the protection of our aquatic ecosystems, not only for anthropogenic benefits but also recognising the needs of the plants and animals that depend on these natural resources.

The international Institute for Water Engineering and Environment (2IE) in collaboration with DHI organized a training session on Integrated Water Resources Management and Environment. The training took place from 9 to 20 February 2015 in Ouagadougou for participants from Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso. As it has become an habit GWP West Africa was asked to make a communication on its activities and knowledge products to the participants.

Global Water Partnership (GWP) invites all Partners to its annual GWP Network Meeting on 1 June 2015. This year’s meeting will be held online - GWP Live - broadcast by live stream, with an opportunity to watch a taped version of the event afterwards.

The elaboration of the study on the "Identification of development priorities in the Mékrou transboundary basin" in each country (Benin, Burkina and Niger) with workshops for the restitution and validation has been delayed because of some practical issues. The contracts were signed with some delay with each consultants and some national issues linked to the political and social situation couldn’t allow work to go on correctly.

GWP-Med, representing on occasion also GWP, has been contributing to the OECD Water Governance Initiative (WGI)[1] since its launch in 2013. In this framework, GWP-Med participated in the 7^th meeting of the WGI held on 23-24 June 2016, in The Hague, the Netherlands. The meeting brought together some 80 representatives of organizations and institutions, members to the Initiative.
