The NCWR Programme is designed and implemented by GWP-Med. It started in Greece in 2008 and since then expanded in the Maltese Islands, Cyprus, and Italy.

“Many activities had been done and showed progress in the past five years, but there are also still remaining a lot of challenges and many IWRM activities need to be done in the coming years. However, the new phase of strategy implementation has to be improved and aligned with national natural resources strategy and other water related sector plans as well as the 8th national socio-economic development plans of the government 2016-2020” said Mr. Thoumma Saluemxay, Deputy Director General of Department of Water Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The workshop on 26 May 2015 highlighted that The Lao National Water Resources Strategy and Action Plan 2011-2015 implementation and development is very crucial for water sector collaboration among stakeholders in the country since the last five years of review.

The inclusion of a water goal in the the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) puts the responsibility for linking water to other development sectors firmly in the hands of water policy makers and practitioners. Cooperation between GWP Slovakia and the Eastern Africa region has been in existence for quite some time. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Khartoum in March to outline the next steps of collaboration.

#COP21 commonly referred to as the United Nations Climate Change Conference is the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). #COP21 kicked off on November 30^th and runs until December 11th, 2015 in France. 

Thirty participants from 5 Middle East & Nortnern Africa (MENA) countries - Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia - gathered in Tunisia, on 8-19 February 2015, in a course held in the framework of the 4-year MENA Integrated Sustainable Coastal Development Training Programme (MENA ISCD), financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and jointly implemented by NIRAS Natura AB and the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med).

GWP Central America joined two Latin American youth networks in the organization of the Latin American Youth and Environment Conference (‪#‎ELACJA), held in Mexico City from October 21-23. GWP supported the participation of six people from each of the countries in the region.
