The 3^rd Regional Alumni Workshop in the framework of the Sida funded and Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) labelled programme ‘Water Integrity Capacity Building Programme for the MENA Region’[1] was organized by the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med), in collaboration with Al Akhawayn University, on 23-26 May 2016, in Ifrane, Morocco.

Uno de sus principales objetivos es desarrollar un conjunto de principios compartidos para motivar y alentar a los gobiernos, las empresas y la sociedad civil a Considerar los múltiples valores del agua y guiar la incorporación transparente de estos valores en la toma de decisiones de los formuladores de políticas, las comunidades y las empresas. Se ha preparado un documento conceptual, "Valorar el agua: preámbulo y principios", como documento de discusión para consulta con las partes interesadas. Debido a su amplia y diversa red multipartita, se ha pedido a Global Water Partnership (GWP) que facilite las consultas regionales para apoyar el trabajo del HLPW en su contribución a su Plan de Acción (alineado con SDGs y otros acuerdos de alto nivel). Estas consultas crearán conciencia y examinarán la pertinencia a nivel regional / nacional de las perspectivas mundiales, y aportarán insumos, opciones y recomendaciones que mejorarán las resoluciones de la HLPW.

The chair and permanent secretary of the Country Water Partnership (CWP) Niger took part in the "National consultation workshop on the BIOPALT project - Biosphere and Lake Chad Heritage", on 12 and 13 February 2017 in Niamey.

The Partnership engagement modality is country driven. Countries will provide leadership to the partnership, articulating the needs and priority support areas to advance preparation and implementation of climate resilient water projects. Country entities will also be the primary source of knowledge, best practices, and lessons to be shared among members of the Partnership, which promotes peer-to-peer learning.

The Global Water Partnership - in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank, Climate Change Commission-Philippines, the Government of Palau, Asia-Pacific Water Forum, Japan International Cooperation Agency, UN Environment, and the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network - is organising, in consultation with the Green Climate Fund, a Technical Workshop on Project Preparation for Transformational Climate Resilience Water Project Concepts in Asia. The workshop is held 15-16 October at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

The Youth H₂O forum joined a number of stakeholders in commemorating World Water Day which fell on 22^nd March 2016. The day was commemorated in two different places. The main event was held in Choma Southern province on the 21^st March, and the other event was held in Lusaka at Mtendere Clinic. 

Nepal has vast water resources and approximately 67% of its cultivated land can be irrigated. Out of the 1.7 million ha of Nepal’s irrigable land, 78% has been provided with some irrigation infrastructure. Irrigation is vital to Nepal, especially as the country is facing climate change impacts such as rise in temperature and more erratic rainfall patterns, which is creating prolonged periods of droughts and jeopardising the agricultural production nationwide. As the supply of water for agriculture becomes more variable, water resource competition and water conflicts across the country are equally becoming increasingly visible. The Bajrabarahi Village Municipality is one of those rural communities where water conflicts have been clearly on the rise over the last decade.
