Global Water Partnership South Asia in collaboration with High-level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP) and the Government of Japan is scheduled a sub-regional consultation, to gain inputs from experts and practitioners in the region on the draft principles on Investment and Financing for Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction. The consultation is scheduled for 12 October 2018 at the Yellow River Auditorium, International Water Resources Management (IWMI), Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Water and Irrigation (Tanzania), together with the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW) Secretariat, is organizing the 6th Africa Water Week to be held at Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre, Dar es Salaam from 18th – 22nd July, 2016. The Tanzania Water Partnership has been coopted by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation as one of the lead institutions constituting the National Organizing Committee (NOC) for the 6th Africa Water Week. Several members of TWP are part of the NOC. 

The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is a biennial multi-stakeholder forum established by the UN General Assembly to review progress, share knowledge and discuss the latest developments and trends in reducing disaster risk. In 2019, it is held 13-17 May in Geneva, Switzerland.

In a special bulletin dated March 2019, the AGRHYMET Regional Centre of the Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS) announces trends in rainfall for the season in the Gulf of Guinea countries.
