The Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) is the global platform to share and co-create innovative water solutions. The biennial event gathers stakeholders from the global water industry to share best practices, showcase the latest technologies and tap business opportunities. SIWW is part of the strategic programme of the Singapore Government to grow the water industry and develop water technologies.

 

These events was organized by Singapore International Water Week Pte Ltd, a company set up by Singapore's Ministry of the Environment & Water Resources and PUB, Singapore’s national water agency. The 7th Singapore International Water Week held in conjunction with the 5th World Cities Summit and the 3rd CleanEnviro Summit Singapore, from 10 – 14 July 2016 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

 

Youth Water Community Central and Eastern Europe is organising a workshop Plastic Pollution Reduction in Rivers: Current Status, Solutions and Remaining Challenges on 5 December 2017 in Tirana, Albania.

Africa in particular its sub Saharan part, is one of the most affected areas in the world regarding food insecurity (Africa 2014 report on hunger, IFPRI). The agricultural sector which food security and poverty reduction depends very much on in Africa is likely to be affected by climate change if no action is taken.  It is against that background that The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa held national consultations on water and food in Malawi and Lesotho on the 21^st of April 2016.

We are looking for young activists to join forces for water & climate!

 

Five awards of €1,000 each are available for youth-led projects which are based on the white paper recommendations made at COP 21.

We have the largest number of young people the world has ever known and the majority of them live in the Southern hemisphere. ‘Youth are our future’ is a commonly used phrase. But in fact they are also the present. The challenge is to recognise the contributions that youth can and already to make to facilitate the ‘inter-generational exchange that lies at the heart of sustainable development.’

GWP Central America joined two Latin American youth networks in the organization of the Latin American Youth and Environment Conference (‪#‎ELACJA), held in Mexico City from October 21-23. GWP supported the participation of six people from each of the countries in the region.

The Eastern Africa region and Greater Horn of Africa experience the highest climate variability thus causing persistent prolonged droughts, erratic floods and untimely rainfall patterns
