Tanzania: Adapting to climate change through land and water management in Eastern Africa: Kiroka Village, Morogoro, Tanzania (#452)

Tanzania is facing increasing pressures on its water resources due to a growing agricultural sector and the effects of climate change. In order to ensure environmental and economic sustainability in the face of water scarcity the local communities of Kiroka village, Morogoro, conceived a project to build capacity for climate adaptation through sustainable land and water management. The participatory approach coupled with capacity building and holistic problem solving that also addresses livelihood issues has proven to be an effective method of implementing an IWRM plan that is sustainable and can be readily subscribed to.

Country Toolbox Website Consolidation

On 18 December 2013, Indonesia Water Partnership re-introduced Tool Box to 14 participants who came from Government, Professional, University, and NGO. Resource Persons came from: Government (DG Water Resources, Ministriof Public Work); Private Companies, NGOs, Highe Education (University). Indonesia Water Partnership (INA-WP) as an organizer and Co-organizer was Directorate of Water Resources, Ministry of Public Work, Republic of Indonesia. Budget and Finance Committee meeting

The Budget and Finance Committee is an ad hoc committee set up by the Steering Committee to review documents including work plans, budgets and progress and financial reports to give its opinion on the level of implementation GWP West Africa budgets.

Training on International Water Law in Africa

GWP and four of its partner institutions are organising a joint training on International Water Law (IWL) in Africa. The training will take place in Kampala, Uganda, 5-12 June 2016. It is open for up to 40 participants, and funding is available for 30 African-based participants.

GWP at the UN-Water Zaragoza Conference

The UN-Water annual Zaragoza Conference serves as preparation for the annual World Water Day. GWP representatives participated in several of the sessions.

Ghana: 2nd Capacity training held

The Ghana Country Water Partnership under ict Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) HAS Organised the 2nd module of the capacity building program titled "Identify and Appraise Options." This training Took Place in the Upper-East Region from July 21st -24th, 2014 at the conference room of Ex-Tee Crystal Hotel in Bolgatanga.
