GWP China's activities such as the high-level roundtables, fora, workshops, on-site dialogues, thematic programmes and investigations were organized for inviting the stakeholders from the water resources, environmental protection, public health, urban construction, agriculture and transport sectors to exchange ideas on such key issues in the area of water resources management and also for publicizing the water management knowledge and extending the influences. The IWRM knowledge, SDGs promotion, and other related concepts can be fostered and disseminated through means of our technical papers, translation products, the GWP China's Newsletter, etc.

Global Water Partnership-Southern Africa (GWP-SA) announced its re-positioning to re-align and adapt to regional and continental industrial strategy that will entail greater focus on water security, jobs and investments.

Towards an equal, friendly and secured international community, China has developed the blueprint of “One Belt One Road” for multiple bonds with more than 60 countries in Asia, Europe and Africa to work for a community of shared benefits, destiny and responsibility. Tsinghua University founded the Institute of Global Development in 2016 for promoting the One Belt One Road at national, regional and global level.

On the eve of International Women's Day March 8 GWP CACENA has interviewed women successfully working in the water sector in CACENA region to know  how to overcome obstacles they face as women, and also what they would like to recommend to other women.

The 9th World Urban Forum (WUF9), convened by the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), brings together stakeholders to share practices and knowledge on how cities are built, planned and managed. The Forum is held 7-13 February in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The 5th World Ocean Summit will be held at Riviera Maya, Mexico, on 7-9 March. The event is organised by the Economist Group.

The Joint Support Programme for Integrated Water Resources Management (PCA-Gire) organized on 12 April 2018, in Bamako, a workshop on surface water quality in Mali. The workshop aimed at reflecting on the problem of river pollution in Mali by identifying the major polluters and innovative solutions to improve surface water quality in the country.
