GWP Chair Dr. Ursula Schaefer-Preuss gave the introductory keynote to the Second Mekong River Commission Summit and International Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 2 April. She presented some key elements related to the Post-2015 Development Agenda, stressing the need for a dedicated water goal in an ever-changing world.

Partnership is our strength. We strongly believe that water security and climate resilience in region will be achieved through collaborative partnerships and functioning networks. As a result, we have 8 functioning Country Water Partnerships and local active networks and partners.
Over thirty (30) regional organisations working in the areas of water and wastewater in the Caribbean, will meet in Barbados on April 28th and 29th, 2014 at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, to critically explore ways of strengthening their collaboration to improve water security in the region.
Climate change and the role of water in socio-economic development was the theme of a workshop for journalists organized by GWP Central Africa in Douala, Cameroon, 17-20 December 2012. News reporting, writing techniques and tools for effective storytelling and reporting were also on the agenda for the 21 participants who came from print media and broadcasting.
On May 29, 2013, GWP Georgia organised a meeting with NGOs in Tbilisi for a presentation of the draft water law by an expert group. GWP Georgia’s role as a catalyst was recognized by the participants as having improved the water legislation.
The United Nations World Water Day is set for 22 March 2014. This year’s theme is Water and Energy.
The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) has lost one of its Founding Fathers, Navin Chanderpal who passed away yesterday ending a long battle with stomach cancer.
The 7th World Water Forum was held from April 12 to 17, 2015 in South Korea. This event, which is now included in to the global sustainable development agenda has brought together thousands of participants from all continents of the world.
