A workshop on the Integrated Urban Water Management was help in Abidjan from 25 to 28 JAnuary 2016. This workshop was jointly organized by Global Water Partnership and the African Water Facility.

 

A collaborative project of International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO)/GWP Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP) - ‘Development of South Asia Drought Monitoring System (SADMS)’ organises a Webinar on 30 September 2015 at 10.00 am (GMT+05.30).

CWP Benin organized on April 25 2017 a workshop to validate the water security strategic framework in the Mekrou basin study carried out by a consultant at regional level.

Mali has validated its project document for the second phase of the Water Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP 2) at the end of 2016.

In addition to implementing relevant outcomes of the HLPW, AIP will address the challenges defined by AfDB and AMCOW in the Africa Regional Report for the 8th Word Water Forum.

Africa Water Week (AWW), the African continents premier biennial event on the water calendar was held in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania from 18-22 July, 2016. The sixth AWW was held under the theme “Achieving the SDGs on Water Security and Sanitation”. The theme was built on the success and deliberations of the 2014 5^th Africa Water Week on “Placing Water at the Heart of the post 2015 Development Agenda”. 

The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a sister to the “One Belt One Road” and also to the “south-south in Asia”. The year of 2017 arrives to the 50th year anniversary of ASEAN. On August 2 and 4, 2017, the anniversary was celebrated in Bangkok, Thailand. GWP China Regional Programme Manager & TEC member, Prof Jinjun YOU attended the event in Bangkok.

Five awards of €1,000 each are available for youth-led projects which are based on the white paper recommendations made at COP 21.

GWPSA’s technical team participated at the World Water Week in Stockholm from 28^th August – 2^nd September, 2016. Under the theme, Water for Sustainable Growth, the team participated in a number of sessions contributing to the solutions to the most pressing water-related challenges of today. Under the Strategic Goal 1 Catalyze Change, the WACDEP Programme of GWP China Region stresses cross-regional cooperation, sector plan optimization, investment on recycling renewable resources, south-south promotion and a good lesson of utilizing the water rights market.
