The Burkina WACDEP team had field trips in February (13th 2015) and March (13, 25 and 29) to first inform and discuss with interested parties on the progress of the demonstration project and find consensual solutions for the conduct of the project. Due to new budget limitation developments the intervention was reframed based on available financial resources.

Mauritius joined the other SADC countries in providing input to the 4^th phase of the Regional Water Programme by holding a workshop in the context of the SADC Water Week on 3 and 4^th June 2015. The Global Environment Facility-funded Caribbean Regional Fund for Wastewater Management (GEF CReW) Project is convening its final regional capacity building workshop at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, from 15 – 19 February 2016.

The GWP CACENA Regional Council Meeting was held on 3-7 August 2015 in Batumi, Georgia (Hotel Alik).

As part of the implementation of Mekrou project, and in order to lay the foundations for proper planning, a socio-economic survey will be carried out on households in the basin area in the 3 countries. An initial technical information and training workshop of country coordinators of these investigations was held in Cotonou from 18 to 20 November 2015.

Thirty participants from 5 Middle East & Nortnern Africa (MENA) countries - Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia - gathered in Tunisia, on 8-19 February 2015, in a course held in the framework of the 4-year MENA Integrated Sustainable Coastal Development Training Programme (MENA ISCD), financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and jointly implemented by NIRAS Natura AB and the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med).
