Last year a group of youth from more than 20 countries started a global initiative where they produced a white paper in the lead up to COP21, which allowed for a Youth Commitment under the Lima-Paris Action Agenda. GWP and partners are now taking the next step in launching a new portal, where voices of young people will be gathered in one place. The portal is launched on World Water Day, 22 March.

IWRM has been implemented in China since it was founded at both provincial and country levels. The cases present the utilization of IWRM ToolBox tools in different provinces and areas. All of them are collected into GWPO ToolBox database to share with others around the world.

The MedPartnership and ClimVar projects held their final meeting on 3-4 November 2015 in Athens, Greece to showcase the results achieved through the activities and demonstration projects implemented over the past five years or so aiming to address the main environmental challenges that Mediterranean marine and coastal ecosystems face.

On Tuesday, March 22, 2016, the 23^rd edition of the World Water Day was celebrated by the National Institute of water (INE) and CWP Benin with support from CARE, Abms PSI and water Company FIFA. A panel debate was organized on the Campus of the University of Abomey Calavi (UAC), in the presence of the Rector of the University Brice SINSIN on the theme “Water sector in Benin: What employment opportunities for young people?" in relation to the global topic “Water and Employment."

Partners of the Global Framework for Action to Cope with Water Scarcity in Agriculture in a Changing Climate (the Global Framework) met in Rome, Italy, on 19-20 April. This was the first meeting since the initiative was launched last year. A statement was issued to demonstrate commitment to address water scarcity in agriculture. As a Partner, GWP participated and was also confirmed as a member of an interim Steering Committee.

The 32^nd SC Meeting of GWP Southeast Asia was held in Singapore on 10 July 2016 before the Singapore Water Week and GWP PAN Asia Workshop.

 

9 Steering Committee Member from 9 countries in Southeast Asia gathered at the Marina Barrage, Singapore to discuss the program and plan for the 2016 and 2017. The plan of 2017 for core budget work plan has not been decided yet but 2 alternatives has been prepared and proposed for the countries.

 

Benin is one of the ten new countries included in the WACDEP 2 phase. A process was engaged to develop a project document for the country.
