The High Level Forum (HLF) is an unmatched regional event, being the only meeting of Caribbean Water Ministers to date. The HLF affords Ministers and senior officials involved in water resources management a unique opportunity to share experiences and ideas for addressing water issues affecting the region and individual countries.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) Sponsoring Partners announced the appointment of Prof Lučka Bogataj among 5 new members for the GWP Steering Committee on 28 August.

Up to 45 participants from more than 20 countries participated in the the 3^rd annual ‘’International Law and Transboundary Freshwaters” workshop, organized by the University of Dundee on 11-14 June 2012. It was the second time GWP provided support to participants which are GWP Partners and 28 participants were from GWP Partner organizations.

The Cyprus Presidency of the EU Council will spot light on the Mediterranean Cooperation as an instrument to ensure peace, stability and growth in our region.

Together with the European Territorial Cooperation Programme MED and the Neighborhood Cross-border Cooperation Programme in the Mediterranean Sea Basin ENPI MED, the Cyprus Presidency warmly invites you to the first joint conference of these two cooperation programmes to be held in Cyprus on October 24th and 25th 2012.

Dr. Danka Thalmeinerova, GWP’s Knowledge Management Officer, wrote this blog after attending a meeting on September 3-4, 2012, hosted by Finland, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention).

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), together with the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), is pleased to announce an extension of the call for abstracts for the International Conference on Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation for Food and Environmental Security. The new deadline for submission of abstracts will be 16 September 2012. The conference will be held on 21-22 November 2012 at SEARCA, College, Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines with a one-day field trip within the Southern Tagalog Region on 23 November 2012.

Enabling Delta Life, a collaborative initiative on water management and governance in deltas between the Global Water Partnership and the Delta Alliance, was officially launched on 29 August 2012 at the seminar “Managing the World's Deltas: Unique Systems, Unique Challenges” at the World Water Week in Stockholm.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) Sponsoring Partners announced today the appointment of Dr. Ursula Schaefer-Preuss as its new Chair, effective January 1, 2013. Dr. Schaefer-Preuss’ latest assignment was as Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development. She was responsible for ADB’s Regional and Sustainable Development Department and Economics and Research Department (Office of the Chief Economist).
