Page names and short-cuts

Google, and other search engines use URLs, allong with the page title and the words you use on a page to determine what the content is about. People use URLs to rememebr where a page was, but they need them simply written, so we make sure that URLs are readable, relevant and if they are too long we can also set up a short-cut.

Translations and Languages

GWP.org can handle most languages with ease and a little adjustment by the admin. Automatic translations are available on every page in almost any language, however thse are tranlated by google and not by a real person, s they are not perfect. Most users have the ability to edit translations of the "real" page within the global site or their own regional or micro site.

Consensus on IWRM Implementation in Central Asia

Two back-to-back meetings on water management in Central Asia recently took place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. GWP representatives Natalia Alexeeva and Vadim Sokolov were invited to the regional workshop “Integrated Water Resources Management in Central Asia”, where they presented the IWRM Toolbox and instruments, and gave an overview of the SDG process and the activities of GWP Central Asia and Caucasus.

Brazil: Progress towards the integration of water resources management (#289)

The water resources of Brazil are subjected to pollution and mismanagement. Furthermore, it is susceptible to urban flooding and land-slides. To address these issues, action was taken to increase funding to the National Water Agency. In terms of IWRM, the key lesson learnt is the need for strong and well-funded executive agencies capable of putting laws into practice.

WACDEP Coordination Workshop Concluded in Rwanda.

The Water, Climate Development (WACDEP) Coordination Workshop that was taking place in Kigali, Rwanda from (23-28 September) concluded with a call to fast-track the implementation of the program and linking it with GWP strategy.
