The International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES) is one of partners of GWP China. On behalf of the Ministry of Water Resources and the UNESCO, the Center organized the International Advanced Training Workshop on International River Basin Management lasting from July 28 to August 3, 2009. There were 51 trainees from 18 countries, covering Asian, European Oceania and African continents, who participated in the training course.

With the support of Hohai University, one of partners of GWP China, the third IWRM Training Course of Hohai University was taken place in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, 27-28 October, 2009.

Becoming a GWPSA Partner is open to any entity- except individuals- involved with or having an impact on water issues, related to the sustainable development, management and use of water resources.

GWP partners with more than 3,000 organisations that share its aims and values in the sustainable development, management, and use of water resources. Partners share information and experiences, and draw on each other for advice and assistance.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) currently has more than 120 partners in over 22 Caribbean countries. GWP-C has the support of the Global Water Partnership which comprises of 13 Regional Water Partnerships and more than 75 Country Water Partnerships worldwide. The global network has over 3000 partners in over 180 countries.

The Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and key donors such as the African Development Bank signed an agreement providing funds to translate the Regional Water Policy adopted by heads of state in October 2009 into action. The allocation of funding is a crucial step along the road to improving water management in the region.

GWP Inter-Regional Workshop will be held on 25-27 May 2009 in Kiev, Ukraine.

GWP-CAf facilitated meetings with the Secretariat of the International Commission for the Congo–Oubangui–Sangha Basin (CICOS).
