The Constitutive General Assembly of the Platform of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) of the Mono Basin was held on Friday 8 December 2017 in Lomé, Togo. It brought together CSO delegates from Benin and Togo with the support of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), through the Partnership for Environmental Governance Programme (PAGE).

The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) is seeking to hire an expert from Drin Riparian Countries to provide Water Quality Surveillance Monitoring and Sampling Training in FYR Macedonia.

MENA Focus, a set of four regional sessions dedicated to the Middle East & North Africa, was officially launched at the Stockholm World Water Week 2016, alongside the Regional Days for Africa, Asia and Latin America. "Accelerate progress in the implementation of IWRM to achieve SWA commitments in Mali" is the topic of “parliamentary day” organized by the CWP Mali to involve the National Assembly.

The National Water Partnerships of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkmenistan, under the sponsorship of the Embassy of Canada to Turkey and the support of GWP CACENA, are implementing a project (“Strengthening the capacity of women representatives of Turkmen and Azerbaijani non-governmental organizations in the fields of natural resource management & climate change adaptation through training activities and knowledge sharing with Georgian civil society”) aiming to increase women activity in environmental protection.

GWP Central America, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), in coordination with the Central American Commission on Environment and Development (CCAD) and the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) of El Salvador, organised the workshop "Integrating Water Security in the National Adaptation Plans (NAPs)." The event was held in San Salvador, El Salvador, on 27-29 October.

GWP Vice Chair and member of the Steering Committee, Drs. Alice Bouman-Dentener participated in the High-Level Symposium on SDG 6 and Targets in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 9-11 August.
