On the occasion of International Women’s Day (8 March), Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe has interviewed women in the water community across the Network on their journey to become successful in their professions, how to overcome obstacles they face as women, and also recommendations to other women.
We are looking for young activists to join forces for water & climate!
Five awards of €1,000 each are available for youth-led projects which are based on the white paper recommendations made at COP 21.
From 22- 23 October 2015, the Global Water Partnership Eastern Africa (GWPEA) conducted a regional workshop themed “ Role of the media in promoting water security, climate resilience and drought risk management”. The workshop was attended by 15 media practitioners from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Ethiopia and Djibouti.
The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) under its Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) is developing a regional Caribbean Climate Resilience and Water Security Investment Programme and Financing Plan (CReWSIP). More information on the CReWSIP is available here.
The United Nations post-2015 Development Agenda was adopted by Member States at the UN General Assembly in September 2015. GWP is committed to support implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 6, which is dedicated to water. To help countries implement the SDGs, GWP set up a SDG Preparedness Facility (SDG-PF).
