European Parliament Presentation of WWDR 2017

The UN World Water Development Report 2017 (WWDR 2017) will be presented at the European Parliament in Brussels on 6 June. At this event, GWP will be part of a panel discussion on the value of wastewater in the circular economy.

Ghana: 7th WACDEP Technical Coordination Workshop held in Accra, Ghana

The Ghana Country Water Partnership (CWP-Ghana) hosted the 7th Technical Coordination workshop of the Water, Climate and Development Program (WACDEP) from Monday 5th October to Wednesday 7th October, 2015 at the La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra. The purpose of the meeting was to share progress, approaches and lessons learnt in delivering the WACDEP outputs in the 8 countries rolling out the program. It also served as a platform to discuss the key constraints and opportunities identified during implementation, and set the stage for scaling up WACDEP implementation.

Innovative Approaches to Water and Climate Financing

Building water security and climate resilience into development activities is key to achieving long-term sustainability, but requires much higher levels of investment than at present. This policy brief presents innovative approaches to financing, which are needed to make sufficient funding available. Policy briefs provide policy makers with information on water resources management. This brief was developed under the Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP).

GWP Presents: Women Water Champions on IWD2016

“Water, gender and development are closely interconnected, and GWP realizes this fully. We think that water empowers women, and empowered women transform their societies.” These are the words of GWP Interim Chair Alice Bouman-Dentener on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2016 (#IWD2016). Alongside her, some of the remarkable women in the GWP network speak up - about their journey to become successful in their professions, how to overcome obstacles they face as women, and also recommendations to other women.

The partnership operates under 7 thematic areas. These focus areas are in line with the overall GWP strategy and have been identified to address the various challenges in the water sector in Tanzania.
