Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) sought to assess the effectiveness of its training manual on Water Use Efficiency (WUE) in the Tourism Industry and Hotel Sector by hosting a WUE workshop in Antigua on November 29^th - 30^th, 2011. To assist in carrying out the WUE workshop in the Tourism sector, GWP-C contracted the Environment Tourism Consulting Limited (ETC).

‒ Launching of a Strategic Framework at Africa Water Week 2012

In an effort to address the twin challenges of water security and climate change, the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW) will launch The Strategic Framework for Water Security and Climate Resilient Development during the 4^th Africa Water Week, May 14-18, 2012, in Cairo, Egypt.

Former Editor and Videographer at CNS TV6 in Guyana, Mr. Shane Hubbard has claimed the top spot in GWP-C’s first Media Awards on Water. Entries by Ms. Veoma Ali, Regional Advertising Manager at One Caribbean Media Limited in Barbados and Mrs. Latoya Minott-Spence, Reporter and Producer at Television Jamaica were selected for Honourable Mention. While pollution problems have long been acknowledged in the Okavango Delta, it was the Botswana IWRM-WE Plan project (facilitated by GWP Botswana, led by Botswana's Department of Water Affairs, and funded by UNDP GEF) which brought stakeholders and institutions together to act on the issue. This contrasted with the isolated, ad hoc project and departmental actions that had gone before.

The Limpopo basin is located in Southern Africa and covers an area of 416,296 km2, spreading over four countries: Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

IWRM assessment in West Africa

GWP China Fujian was set up in October, 2002, with the host institution of Xiamen University. Its governance structure consists of its Council and Secretariat.
