The Global Water Leadership Programme (GWL) in Tanzania has brought together a range of the country’s sectors to forge a united front against water insecurity through regular dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders.
Stakeholders from all Economies in South-East Europe (SEE) and representing the sectors of water resources management, agriculture, energy and environmental protection, participated in the 4th Regional Nexus Roundtable in SEE that was held on 26 July 2022 in hybrid mode in Tirana and online.
Over 70 representatives from fifteen African Union Member States gathered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from the 13 - 14 February 2025 for a training on AU Guidelines for the development of National Climate Resilient Water Investment Programmes. The training was part of the build-up to the 2025 AU-AIP Water Investment Summit which South Africa will host in the context of the G20 Presidency, and the 2026 UN Water Conference to be co-hosted by the United Arab Emirates and Senegal.
GWP CEE Regional Chair, Prof. Dr. Tjasa Griessler Bulc, represented the organization at the UN Water Conference 2023. We asked Dr. Bulc about her experience and future impact of the venue on the participating organizations and their peers.
Dr Reba Paul joined during the inception of Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) as a volunteer in 1998 and worked through 1999 and engaged in various capacities to formulate the South Asia Technical Advisory Committee (SASTAC). She worked twelve years (1998-2010) at GWP South Asia and then moved to Sydney, Australia and carried out her Doctoral Research on Energy Sensitive Urban Water Planning in Developing Countries. At present she is employed as a full-time Adjunct Research Fellow of Institute for Sustainable Futures.

The implementation of the project "Water for Growth and Poverty Reduction in the Mekrou sub-basin of Niger" (Mekrou Phase 2-Niger Project), financed by the European Union, has made significant progress in the area covered by the project, namely the communes of Tamou and Kirtachi in the Tillabery region and Falmey in the Dosso region.
