September 9, 2023, GWP China stakeholders at regional, provincial and river basin levels met Network Specialist of GWPO in Chenzhou, Hunan Province. GWP China Regional office held the first assembly session offline gathering all provincial and river basin partnerships after 3-year lockdown period due to the nationwide pandemic.

As the Network Specialist of GWPO associating GWPO and GWP China region, Laurent-Charles Tremblay-Lévesque delivered vision, mission and updated programmes of Stockholm to GWP China regional office and secretariats of provincial and river basin partnerships.
Each representative in the region shared their annual outcomes of 2023 and workplan of 2024 at the Secretariat Working Session.
From September 5 to 14, in addition to the Secretariat Working Meeting, Laurent-Charles Tremblay-Lévesque visited host institutes GWP China in Beijing, GWP China Yellow River in Zhengzhou, Henan Province and GWP China Yangtze River in Wuhan, Hubei Province accordingly.
Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research, Henan Province, China
As the host institute of Yellow River Basin in Henan Province, the Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research (YRIHR) convened a thematic session to exchange programmes and operations between GWPO and YRIHR. Laurent raised potential programme opportunities of the Yellow River Basin collaborating with ADB to the decision-makers of the Institute.
Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute, Hubei Province, China
In Wuhan Province where GWP China Yangtze River Basin based, XU Quanxi, President of the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute (CRSRI) led his team and sent Laurent a warm welcome. At the meeting, they spend 1.5 hours for communicating programme cooperation chances between two sides.
Lancang-Mekong Water Cooperation Center, Beijing, China
On behalf of GWP China's host Institute, JIANG Yunzhong, regional secretary general of GWP China, organized multiple seminars with the major department of the Ministry of Water Resources and the Lancang-Mekong Water Cooperation Center for Laurent after his official visiting to the regional office in Beijing.
