The online registration and the call for papers and proposals for the 5^th Africa Water Week is now open. The deadline for papers and proposals is March 22^nd 2014. The 5^th Africa Water Week will be held in Dakar, Senegal from 26^th to 31^st of May 2014. Overall theme: Placing Water at the Heart of the Post 2015 Development Agenda!

Water, Climate and Development (WACDEP) is the Program implemented by Global Water Partnership through its regional secretariats and offices.

On 29 October 2014, GWP Central and Eastern Europe is realeasing a new video at the European River Restoration Conference 2014 to trigger a debate on public participation in water management.

Mr Iswer Raj Onta, Regional Chair Global Water Partnership South Asia (GWP SAS) (2013-2015), passed away on Sunday, 6 March 2016. The entire GWP Network is saddened by his departure and it is a great loss to the South Asia Region.

On January 29, 2019 the Country Water Partnership of Guinea had a preparatory meeting on the public debate on the theme "Integrated water resources management, what an innovative approach for quality management?" scheduled for February 02 at Mahatma Gandhi University in Conakry.

A secure water world is emerging as a top human development priority in the Post-2015 Development Agenda. But to truly deliver secure and sustainable water for all, policy makers need sound evidence connecting water security to economic growth and development.

The Executive Secretary of GWP, Rudolph Cleveringa, says that GWP as a network needs to change: “We can’t use the same agenda as we did 20 years ago”. Approaching World Water Day 2016, Cleveringa takes a moment to reflect on GWP’s 20 years in the water world and talks about his vision on how to make the network fit for the future – local inclusion and diversity are words he uses to make his point.

Boyla BASSOUROU and Cheick Aboubacar BAMBARA are the two young professionals selected after a recruitment process for professional immersion at the GWP-WA Regional Secretariat since July 2018. After six (06) months each one draws the first lessons from a stay at the Regional Secretariat.

As part of the efforts to strengthen the management of the Ghana Country Water Partnership secretariat to develop a strong presence in the water sector, a reference center has been created at the secretariat.

Following the WACDEP Africa Technical Coordination and Annual Programming Meeting which was held from the 15^th to the 17^th of September 2014 at Meikles Hotel, Harare, Zimbabwe a training workshop on Project Preparation and Financing was held from the 18^th to the 19^th September, 2014. The training workshop brought together 35 participants which included the WACDEP Africa Coordination Unit; WACDEP Project Preparation National Consultants, WACDEP Work Package 4 (WP 4) National and Regional Partner Institutions and WACDEP Country Programme Managers.
