From 2007, the annual Southern African Development Community (SADC) Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogues, organised by GWP Southern Africa on behalf of the SADC Water Division, have informed action plans at regional, river basin, national and local levels. Although the Dialogues encourage cross-sectoral integration, until now they have largely been regarded as meetings for 'water people'.
The meeting of the 3rd Conference of the 2nd GWP China Council was held in Beijing on February 16, 2011.
For the purpose of better building and management of urban water environment, the GWP China Hebei, jointly with Water Branch of Hebei Provincial Senior Scientists Association and Water Bureau of Shijiazhuang City of Hebei Province, organized “High-level Forum on Urban Water Environment Building and Management” on November 27- 28, 2011 in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province with over 80 participants .
The Workshop on Efficient Use of Water Resources and Ecological Compensation on Loess Pleteau of the Yellow River, co-organized by GWP China Yellow River and Yellow River Research Institute, was held on September 27 and 28, 2010, Zhengzhou, Henan Province.
Cameroon lies between 2° and 13° north latitude and between 8° and 16° east longitude in west central Africa. The country has a total land area of about 475,440 sq. km and a coastline of 402 km and its climate varies with the terrain. This is characterized by high year-round temperatures and the weather is controlled by equatorial and tropical air masses.
The African Ministers Council on Water recently (AMCOW) acknowledged the value of its partnership with GWP at their General Assembly in Cairo, Egypt, on May 14, 2012, where the AMCOW Framework for Water Security and Climate Resilient Development was launched. Honourable S.S. Nkomo, Vice President of AMCOW, and Minister of Water Resources and Development, Zimbabwe, said, ‘we have good partners, AMCOW values the partnership with GWP and partners, and hereby welcomes this Framework’. This Partnership is very important and its implementation should contribute to support the Gambia in the sustainable management of its water resources ... The government and my department will provide all necessary support to do so.
