India Water Partnership is collaborating with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, New Delhi for organising a Conference on “Sustainable Water Management” on 15 July 2015 at New Delhi.
From 25-26 September, the GWPEA program known as “Integrated Drought Management Program in the Horn of Africa (IDMP HOA) “organized a stakeholders’ meeting in Nairobi, Kenya following a scooping exercise to assess the drought resilience status in 8 countries in the Horn of Africa. The countries include Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, south Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda.
Based on country studies on Local Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices (LIKSP) and how they contribute to enhancing climate resilience in each of the 14 countries in the SADC region, Qandelihle Simelane (regional consultant of LIKSP studies) gave a regional summation from country studies undertaken in the region during the 6th SADC River Basin Organisations (RBOs) Workshop held from the 15th to the 17th of October 2014 at Birchwood Hotel, Johannesburg, South Africa under the theme “Strengthening Regional Cooperation and Resilience in Water Related Disasters.”
Lake Victoria Basin Commission (LBVC) and GWP Eastern Africa discussed strategic areas of cooperation as the two institutions share a lot in water resources management in Eastern Africa region.

The Regional Workshop on South-South Cooperation in Flood Management will be jointly organized by GWP China and GWPO, on 14-16 December 2015, in Guangdong, China.
GWP’s Water, Climate, and Development Programme has been formally introduced in Central America. Launch events have taken place in Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama, and there will be events in Guatemala and El Salvador by the end of October.
