The CWP chair, Mamadou Alpha HANN led the Executive Secretariat to meet with the President of Commission No 3 of the Economic and Social Council (ESC), Mr Maurice DOPAVOGUI, accompanied by Mrs Guilao Joséphine LENO, former Minister and member of the ESC, to discuss the possibilities of collaboration with his institution.

The Minister of Water, Hydraulic equipment and Sanitation of Burkina Faso, Ms. Mamounata BELEM / OUEDRAOGO, presided over the official ceremony of the validation workshop of two studies on June 3, 2014 at the Palm Beach Hotel in Ouagadougou.

A press event was held at the Athalassa Center for Environmental Education on December 2^nd, 2014 to mark the conclusion of the first phase of implementation works for the installation of new and the reinstatement of existing greywater reuse and rainwater harvesting systems at public schools and centres of environmental education.

The Permanent Secretary of CWP Niger, Mr. Garba Radji, undertook a working mission with the CWP Benin in Cotonou from 17 to 23 July 2015. Mr. Radji is the PS of the CWP Niger since June 2015.

 

South Africa started its internal broad stakeholder engagement process on Water in the Post 2015 Development Agenda earlier this year. The first stakeholder workshop was held in Durban from 19-20 February 2013. A second workshop, was held in Irene, Gauteng on 4^th April 2013.

A scholarship is now available for a student from the Caribbean to develop knowledge related to climate change adaptation and water resources management that can be directed back to the region.

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean's (GWP-C's) Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean is being implemented through 4 interrelated components with 8 work packages.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) staff in Zimbabwe attended World Water Day commemorations organised by Mukuvisi Woodlands Nature Reserve and Environment Centre incorporating the Eco Schools Environment Education Programme. The event was funded by the 3^rd European Union Water Facility Programme in Zimbabwe and  was held at Darwendale/Manyame Dam on the 25^th of March 2015. Apart from GWP, the event attracted 449 children and 74 teachers from 27 schools and 13 other organisations which included  the European Union (EU),Environment Africa (EA), Wildlife Conservation, Practical Action, Upper Manyame Sub Catchment Council (UMSCC) and National Parks.

On May 7, 2015, the 6th National Comprehensive Disaster Prevention and Reduction Forum  was held in Beijing.
